May 30, 2013

Woke up and yoga'd, then went to class. Came home and made myself:

1 medium whole wheat tortilla
1/2 cup of all natural salsa
1/4 cup of Greek yogurt

Toasted the whole wheat tortilla and salsa in a pan in the toaster oven for a little less than 10 minutes, then topped it with Greek yogurt.

I sautéed some spinach with cayenne pepper on the side.

So good! Try it and tell me how you like it :)

I'm now going for my midday work out and my goal is to burn at least 400 calories and drink two or more bottles of water while doing it. Start small! I never drink enough water and I really need to start paying attention to that. It would flush out a huge number of toxins!

Processed meats declared too dangerous for humans!

Read this:

I am so lucky!

I have such a supportive family, an amazing boyfriend, and some awesome best friends. I told them that I was ready to change my life and focus on being healthy and they all agreed to back me up. Now, I want everyone to know that I am not a "big"girl, by any means. I am not a toothpick ( I never have been and never will be), but I have never been overweight. I am not looking to lose any weight. I am looking to tone up, get my heart pumping, and extend my lifespan. I'm looking to prevent cancers and heart disease. I love my body. I have a great shape. I just need to remind myself of that by working on making me the best me than I could possibly be (mouthful)!

This does not only apply to fitness. This applies to school and my job as a nanny to a sweet almost 5 month old healthy baby boy!

BE YOU. BE BEAUTIFULLY YOU.

Let's go ladies!

Did you?

Sweat your ass off this morning! Literally!

Namaste, fitness friends!

Woke up an hour early this morning. I downloaded an app on my iPad called "Yoga Free". I personalized my own yoga routines. I made three of them (Morning, lunchtime, and bedtime) and I made them each around 10 minutes. It's not a long and tedious work out, but it is meant to keep you in balance all day.

After my Morning yoga, I did:

60 second plank
50 jumping jacks
40 crunches
30 lunges
20 squats
10 burpees
---- Rest for a few minutes.
---- Repeat again
---- Shower. If you did it right, you'll need it. Please shower. Please.

Let me know what routines you did this morning! And if you don't have a morning routine, use mine! I'm not a personal trainer or anything, but when you first start out, moving in any way is better than sitting on the couch!

Don't get fit for others!

Get fit for yourself! Other people do not live inside your body, so who cares what they think. If you want it, go out and get it. No one is going to hand it to you.

Give it all you've got!

A little about me:

I'm a 21 year old college student in Orlando who likes beer, but also likes to be in shape (almost impossible... Almost). I grew up as a competitive cheerleader who was toned and tiny. College (beer... Let's be honest) has taken its toll and I'm ready to get my bikini body back. What better way to do that than with the help of some friends and a little bit of documentation?! I decided to write a little blog of inspiration for not only me, but for anyone and everyone needing that little push. I'll be putting up healthy recipes, work out routines, personal goals, and other little inspirations (and humor, because if you know me personally, you will expect to read something that will make you laugh). Feel free to leave comments on any posts! I would love to hear some feedback and I would love to know what others do to stay in shape (while drinking beer. Because, college, duh).
